The Sunshine Express

Immersive Theatre

Our pilot of The Sunshine Express was our first project aimed at an older demographic (60+). Due to our personal experience and interest in accessibility, we wanted this experience to be open to all those in the target audience, in particular including those with limited mobility and those with dementia.

We partnered with Affinity Day Care in Northampton and received mentoring from Liz Postlethwaite of The Storybox Project – to create a highly immersive, multi-sensory experience that centred on a train ride on The Sunshine Express.

We received tremendously positive feedback from both care staff and participants with a high number of ‘breakthrough’ outcomes especially amongst those with dementia. We are now seeking funding to develop the project into a local and national touring experience.
