Willow’s Winter Hug
Willow’s Winter Hug is the next story in our Teddy’s Magical Toolbox series featuring popular characters Willow, Robin and Teddy. It is designed for 4-8 year olds and their families to help them connect with their emotions and each other during the dark Winter months by celebrating different cultures and their own creativity.
As part of developing the storybook for Willow’s Winter Hug, we created a storytelling and craft experience that toured to libraries and community centres around Northampton in Winter 2023 and 2024. Hosted by the characters Willow and Robin, children were invited to an interactive version of the Willow’s Winter Hug story and to participate in making their own Teddy Toolbox – a self-care resource for young children. They also received a goody bag with craft materials, a copy of our previous storybook Finding Robin’s Rainbow and several illustrated activity sheets featuring moments from the Willow’s Winter Hug storybook.
Willow has been feeling a little bit grey and drizzly lately, but her friends Robin and Teddy are ready to help with their own version of Winter cheer – full of crafts, storytelling and fun. Follow along and join in with their story of imagination and friendship to help bring a little sunshine into your day – and maybe to those around you too!
The Willow’s Winter Hug storybook is perfect to enjoy at home, and is full of storytelling, mindfulness, drama and craft activities. It’s designed to help children connect with themselves, others and their environment and we use a multi-sensory and inclusive approach so children of all abilities can participate fully.
